Tim Griffiths
Chief Executive Officer
Tim is a specialist in developing, managing and financing large scale projects. He is an expert in District Energy as a Utility Business.
After an early career as a professional accountant with Arthur Andersen, Tim co-founded the Chescor Group, an international investment boutique with operations in London, India and the Middle East. From 1998 to 2010, he was CEO of the Chescor Capital Group, developing and financing projects in the Middle East and India. Since 2010, Tim has continued to work on international projects drawing on his specialist skills of project strategy, project finance, Islamic finance, debt and equity raising.
During his career, Tim has been responsible for transactions amounting to $5 billion.
Tim is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Member of the Corporate Finance Faculty and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Bristol.
Ken Currie
Technical Director - District Cooling
Ken is a cooling systems specialist with 35 years in the design, installation and maintenance of chiller, district cooling and refrigeration plants.
In particular he is:
• The pioneer of Distributed District Cooling
• A designer of pre-fabricated district cooling chiller plant rooms for installation on site
• A designer of demand side and load management via direct-intervention control of building chiller systems for power utility companies.
• An adviser to the urban planning and the regulatory bodies in Abu Dhabi on energy efficiency and district cooling.
Ken has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Africa. He is a member of ASHRAE.
John Band
Consulting Director - Capital Markets & Projects
John is Vice-Chairman of B&K Securities, an Indian investment bank. He is also Chairman of Nextenders, an IT company which manages tamper-proof tenders on behalf of governments, large companies and government agencies. He has lived and worked in India for the last 20 years.
He began his career as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen in London. He then held director-level roles with global investment banks such as BNP, Daiwa and Elders Finance Group.
John has worked on projects in Africa, Australia, India and the Middle East, where he managed the successful billion dollar bid for Kuwait’s customs modernisation.
John’s specialist skills include equity raising, capital markets, and IT and government procurement. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a Masters degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
Andy Holgate
Consulting Director - Engineering
Andy is a senior executive with over fifteen years experience in the United Arab Emirates, GCC, Central Asia & Africa. He has held senior management positions with both major organisations and SMEs.
Andy has experience of a broad range of engineering disciplines: water resource management, geotechnical & environmental engineering systems, waste management, renewable energy, innovative & sustainable engineering materials technologies and value engineering.
Andy holds a B Eng degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kingston.
Magdi Rashad
Consulting Director - Heat recovery and District Cooling
Magdi has over 30 years experience in HVAC and has been responsible for projects in the UK, USA, Saudi Arabia and other countries.
Until recently he was Head of Tabreed’s Subsidiaries Technical Committee and their Business Development Director in the Gulf region.
Magdi is a Chartered Engineer and holds an MSc from Birmingham University and MPhil from Cambridge University
